Vision
Many commercial vehicles have no rear windows or have bulk heads fitted making rear
vision impossible. Even though most commercial drives are excellent drivers they
cannot possibly avoid what they cannot see!
Health & Safety
Health & Safety requirements in the work place require commercial drivers to use
a trained person to supervise them when reversing when they have blind spots. (Drivers
are legally responsible for any consequences of not adhering to this).
The other alternative is to take reasonable safety precautions by fitting an XVISION
reversing aid.
XVision Products
There are XVISION systems for most vans and trucks. These can give full protection
even where there is a towbar or rear step fitted.
Van systems are available in audible (Beep) only and audible/visual versions. The
audio/visual version is especially effective in situations where there is excessive
background noise making it difficult or impossible to hear the audible warning.
